Predictions: The boys will kill again. The hunters are out of control and aren't afraid to do anything they want to. Jack is going to kill Ralph and Piggy. Jack is going to end up killing the whole entire group because he is that out of control.
Images:
Jack set up his camp at Castle Rock and this is also the place of death for Simon.
Piggy's glasses were stolen by Jack when Jack came and beat him and the rest of Ralph's group up.
Clarify: Because the boys, especially Jack, have been on the island for so long, they start to believe that the "beast" is capable of anything and everything and that is why they killed Simon because they believed that the beast could take on any disguise.
Try: Why did the boys kill Simon? Did Jack plan it? Why didn't anyone stop Jack and the other boys while they were killing Simon? Why does Piggy want to forget about what happened to Simon? Why is Jak out of control? How did he get out of control?
Use: My dad used to work for a man who was nice and kind and also very intelligent. However, as the years went on he let the idea of money and power go to his head. He started making decisions that eventually led to the failure of the company. This is very similar to how Jack is acting. He now has power and he is making very bad decisions that are ruining the unity of the group.
Review: In Chapter 10, the boys wake up to bruises and cuts all over their faces due to the fight/dance that had happened the night before. During the fight, the boys, mostly Jack, had killed Simon because they "mistakenly" thought that he was the beast. So, it ends up just being Piggy, Ralph, Samneric, and the littluns left in the original group. All of the rest of the boys joined Jack's group. Ralph kept to his plan and continued to feed the fire. However, Jack and his group attacked in the middle of the night and took Piggy's glasses. Piggy's glasses were the only thing that Ralph had to make a fire and they were gone. Jack was out of control.
