Predictions: Rob is going to make his father and mother proud by becoming a man and doing the jobs that a grown man would do.
Images:
The death of Haven requires Rob to go out and make funeral arrangements and get everything together in order to give his dad a great funeral.
After everyone had left, Rob goes out to his father's tombstone and talks to him "one last time".
Clarify: The name of the book, A Day No Pigs Would Die, was named because of the day Rob's father died. On that day, no pigs would die.
Try: Why couldn't Rob's sisters come? What did Haven die from? Why didn't anyone help Rob with making funeral arrangements?
Use: My grandpa dies when I was 12 years old. Losing a loved one is one of life's hardest obstacles. Although I was very upset and sad that my grandpa was gone, I realize that he's in a better place and that he lived life to the best of his ability.
Review: The main event of Chapter 15 is the death of Haven Peck. A Day No Pigs Would Die is about the growing up of a young man. In Chapter 15, Haven Peck dies and right away Rob grows up and takes care of all the small little details that come with a funeral. Rob is now the man of the house and he sure does one heck of a job doing it. Although Rob was sad his father had passed, he grew up within an instant and took over his father's job and role around the house and within this world.
