Night Section 3
Summary: In section three, the men, women and children were separated and they most likely never see each other again. Once they were separated into either man, woman or child, they were either put into the left or the right line. Elie and his father were told that they were to be the ages of 18 and 50 and not their actual ages. The left line most likely went to the fire and the right was saved. Elie and his father were put into the left line, but thankfully they were saved by another prisoner before they were put into the fire. All while they were being treated so badly, Elie did not understand the reasoning for praying god, because he really wasn't coming to their savior during their time of need. Elie stated that since what he had seen was so terrible, he would never ever forget that night. During the selection, Elie and his father were chosen as laborers and had the same schedule every day. After weeks, they were transferred to another camp.
Predictions: Elie's other family members were most likely killed. Certain prisoners were selected to die, just by the way they looked.
Images: Here, are the thousands of bodies of the Jews that were killed during their time at Auschwitz or other camps.
Clarify: Many Jews were killed during the Holocaust for no reason. They were treated so badly, again for no reason. It is very sad, but we need to realize that the Holocaust actually happened.
Try: Why were Elie and his father told to be ages that they weren't? How could the Nazis burn poor innocent children?
Use: I have gone through tryouts for volleyball where girls who have the right talents are selected, but if they don't have the right talents then they are not selected to play on the team.
Review: Sadly, Jews were killed "just because". Hitler and the Nazis were bad people and they didn't care about the Jews, all they cared about was making the world a better place through the extinction of the Jews.
